Actually Gears of War 3 was 100% non-bundled in 2012 and it only had the limited edition bundle in 2011 which would only appeal to Gears of War fans. This game has sold amazingly, especially considering it's never been bundled with a standard 360, I read somewhere that it's massively under-tracked too (I'll have to find a link to that claim). Gears of War 3 was bundled. It was bundled in a collector's edition custom skinned console that was sold at a much higher price than all the other models. So yes it was bundled, but it was done so in a premium package not meant for new customers, but for hardcore fans who wanted more out of Gears of War 3 besides the game. Message | Report |

@Mr Puggsly Haha that was a funny response. Yeah, Gears 3 hasnt had a single bundle, right? Can anyone confirm whether that's true? I don't follow enough... I love U3, but there's no denying that it would be about 500K further from Gears 3 if it wasn't for the holiday 2012 bundling. Well never know whether U3 could've caught Gears on its own without the bundles. Anyways, Gears and Uncharted are in the same basic class, saleswise; but, Gears still has the definite edge. I'd say its 5.5-6 million selling franchise (Gears) vs. 5-5.5 million selling franchise (Uncharted) Message | Report |

I suspect the Gears of War series is heavily under-tracked by Vgchartz, not quite as massively as God of War was proven to be (Vgchartz still needs to fix those games sales) but I doubt the first game hasn't sold over 6 million and that Gears 3 hasn't passed 6 million yet. We'll probably get an official update of the total franchise sales from Epic Games when Gears of War: Judgment releases. Message | Report |

I always said that Gears 2 sucking so much filthy ass would hurt the sales of Gears 3. I know tons of people that bought the second but wouldn't go near the 3rd game because of how awful Gears 2 was. They also pissed of many of the fans with their stupid ass new weapons that ruined the technically solid multiplayer. Plus Marcus looks like an idiot with his new armor, and Dom looks like a suicidal Sasquatch (Strange Wilderness?) Still sold very well, but could have done better. Message | Report |

Not sure if I'd say the sales are dead, this game seems to keep selling 10,000 to 20,000 units every week. The series has already gone beyond 6 million units individually, so Gears 3 can totally hit a number close to it in 2012 if it keeps up similar numbers along with some generous spikes caused by re-releases with bundled in DLC or really good sales. By mid 2013, Gears of War 3 should be at 6 million units sold in total. Message | Report |

Gears 3 is front loaded because 360/PS3 fans hype all of their hardcore games to hell and buy it early. Plus, not much else was coming out for the 360, so it was easy to decide on which 360 game to get right away. Message | Report |
